The most impressive thing about Brilliant Systems was their attention to detail and thoughtful approach to design concepts. They always kept the user experience and our goals at the forefront of their work. It was clear that every decision they made was carefully considered to ensure the final product was not only visually appealing but also aligned with our vision and objectives. Their ability to balance creativity with practicality set them apart and made the entire process a success.
I’m most impressed with their expertise in A/B testing and the fact that they have multiple people with this expertise. We’ve never run into a situation where we rely on only one person. The team is always making progress.

None that I can think of.
No, we’re really happy with their work. Brilliant Systems did a fantastic job and handled everything exactly how we wanted. There’s nothing we’d change—they were attentive, responsive, and made sure everything turned out great.
Most of their development team is overseas, with a couple of teammates in the US. They could add a couple more US-based teammates to deal with last-minute issues that come up.

Brilliant System's work has been fantastic. I haven't experienced bugs or issues on the site.

Before working with Brilliant Systems , I had meetings with multiple suppliers. I noticed these companies had an old-school approach to design, and the outcome wasn't outstanding and didn't meet my expectations.

I also work with a different design company that always asks what I want instead of providing suggestions. However, sometimes customers don't know what they want. This company works based on my suggestions, and if I change my idea, they need to change the design model and charge more. Brilliant Systems's team is very creative and provides good design suggestions.

Founder of Brilliant Systems is a former BOCES graduate and understands the complexities of our organization. He met with our leadership team and, based on his findings and our input, created a vision for the new website that is unlike many in the education space.

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

Bite-sized trainings broken out into categories (I want to create an event, I want to create a new page, I want to write a blog, etc.) on the CMS would be a huge plus.

I liked how accountable they were to deliverables and how they really drove development against our requests. If we made a request for development and owed them information, product information, or access to resources, they were relentless in holding us accountable to keep the project moving forward.

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

The only struggle is with scheduling of meetings, a lot of our staff works on Pacific Time, so scheduling a time for meetings that is advantageous can be hard but we've struck a good balance.

Thanks to Brilliant, we were able to hit $203,000 worth of sales since January 2020 on our website.

They were very open to hearing our inputs, and they were good at collaborating to get us where we needed to go. Despite the huge time difference between us, they were good at working around our schedule to get things done.

We had many problems throughout the course of our partnership, but it was quite normal for any new website. We were impressed that they swiftly solved our issues and their turnaround time was only 2–3 days. On top of that, they immediately responded to our emails. Apart from email, we also used Zoom calls to communicate with each other. Then, we used GitHub and Jira as our project management tools.

The team developed our two websites from scratch, and we provided them with all the descriptions and content. They also designed some of the graphics on our websites.

Brilliant Systems had several novel ideas regarding our first Magento website. The first website was for a balloon business that delivered balloons in certain geographic areas. Since balloon bouquets were very unique, it was very hard to quantify what went into them. As such, the team helped us develop a system in our site's backend so that we could track our inventory. It took us three months to get that project working.

After that, we transitioned over to building our second website which was the official Party Supply USA platform. We only used Magento’s free version because we didn’t need to incorporate special features on the second website.

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?

Brilliant Systems was a one-stop-shop for us. They had development, SEO, and web design services. Though we didn’t utilize all their services, they were able to discuss what they could offer to our business. Additionally, they had a graphic design artist on site. Whenever we needed to use them for some of our art, they were willing to complete the deliverables we requested.

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

We had some communication issues where we both made assumptions and we didn’t make things clear. However, in every case that happened, they took it upon themselves to make things right. More importantly, we both had the chance to reevaluate where we were going.

Brilliant Systems’s work quality is great; they can solve complex problems.

We use Trello for project management, and they’ve adapted to it really well; their feedback is clear, and they always tag us correctly. The team updates us constantly, and they’re on top of the details. Moreover, they have good and prompt communication through Trello and Slack. Although we’ve had Zoom calls with them, I prefer asynchronous communication, and they’re great at that.

Describe your project in brief

Brilliant Systems has been providing us with A/B testing development for years in an ongoing engagement. Our team comes up with the A/B test ideas, and we design them using Figma. Then, we hand that over to Brilliant Systems’s development team along with our specifications for detailed logistics. From there, they code it in the A/B testing software, do QA testing, and then hand back preview links for us and our end clients.

We do our QA process to see whether the test is working correctly and find any bugs. After that, we launch the test. For development, they’ve used Optimizely, Google Optimize, Adobe Target, and VWO. They implement winning test variations effectively on Shopify. In addition, we ask them about issues specific to A/B testing, such as test loads and how to pull off tests on dynamic elements, and they provide consultancy services.
