I am Vadim Peskov, CEO of Diffco US. Our company develops stunning websites and addictive mobile applications for our clients. Mention the objectives or the parameters critical in determining the time frame of developing a mobile application?

It depends on what stage you are right now. An idea, a sketch, a detailed technical task with
mock-ups of UI or even completed design of all screens. We work with different clients on every stage of readiness. Also it depends on the amount of work you need for prototyping, designing, coding. Besides, complexity of the application, amount of functions, and integration with a variety of APIs have a direct impact on the time frame.

How much effort in terms of time goes into developing the front end and back end of a mobile application?

Of course it depends on complexity of the application; in general, an average business app development takes 2-3 months to launch. If it requires more time, it means that too many functions have been included into the first version or MVP, so we offer our client to split the launch on stages and move some functions on to the next version.

What are the key parameters to be considered before selecting the right platform for a mobile application?

First, we identify the target audience for the app, how people will use our app, where and in what circumstances. In addi7on to that we specify our client’s goals and plans, understand why we make this applica7on, only after that the platform can be chosen.

Which platform do you suggest your clients to begin with when they approach you with an idea (Android or iOS) and why?

It depends on the app, but in general for US market we recommend to start with iOS, because of its popularity, limited amount of mobile models and opportunity of monetization.

Android or iOS, Native or Hybrid — which platform is best to use to build your app? What are your recommendations?

If you have very limited time to launch and you definitely have to start with both platforms, you are forced to use cross platform solutions. In other cases, we recommend first to develop one native app and then work on another platform. Native app usually works better and gives the users satisfactory experience, which is very important to present your business idea. In the long run, we generally recommend moving on the native app, so it’s a good investment of time to start with the native app.

What are the key factors that you consider before deciding the cost of a mobile application?

It’s simple. We compose a detailed feature list of an application and estimate every item in hours. So we get a detailed total estimate on of the whole app.

What kind of payment structure do you follow to bill your clients?

It depends on the project and the negotiations with the client. Usually we try to meet the client’s requests on the payment structure.

Do you take in projects which meet your basic budget requirement? If yes, what is the minimum requirement? If no, on what minimum budget you have worked for?

It varies from project to project, however we recommend the budget of $15k for MVP.

What was the cost bracket of mobile app projects your organization did in 2015?

The cost of projects that we did in 2015 varied from $10k to $100k+.
