They are incredibly detailed and thorough and often times do what is not asked of them and serve as a consultative partner. Through every phone call text message or iteration. The goal of this project was to develop an AR-enabled furniture marketplace mobile app. The app allows customers to view and interact with 3D models of furniture using augmented reality directly in their own home. This gives shoppers the ability to visualize furniture pieces at scale and in the context of their space before purchasing.

The AR experience was built using ARKit and ARCore for iOS and Android devices. 3D furniture models were created through a combination of 3D modeling and photogrammetry using multiple photographs of the actual furniture pieces. The app features a seamless AR "camcorder" mode where users can walk around and between furniture models to view them from all angles. Users can also move and scale the models to fit into their space.

A backend management system was developed for the business owner to easily upload and modify 3D furniture assets and descriptions.

The project managers and developers were extremely responsive and flexible, adapting to changes in scope and priorities with ease. They went above and beyond to ensure all my needs and requests were met. IT-Dimension started with a simple idea: How can I combine my passion and skills to create something valuable for others and make a living from it? My co-founder, Volodymyr, and I started IT-Dimension right after university graduation with a small team of engineers back then, all driven to build cool software that could help businesses achieve extraordinary things. Fast forward to today, that same passion fuels everything we do. We've grown into a team of talented individuals who love tackling challenges and turning clients’ ambitious ideas into reality.

What are the core values and principles that drive your company's culture, and how do you ensure alignment with these values across your team?

We've learned over the years that the most important thing isn't just the software we build but the way we build it. That's why we put so much emphasis on our core values of involvement, cooperation, people, and openness.

We're united by a shared purpose at IT-Dimension: to use technology to make a positive impact on the people ('end users' in tech language) and businesses (businesses focused on profit and expansion) as well as constantly thinking on innovations (using cutting-edge R&D approaches, synthesizing new ideas with proven solutions). It comes to the idea of engaging both research and product mindset. My vision is to balance building and innovation, as these are the key factors that will contribute to a better and more sustainable world in the end.

My favorite metaphor is a renaissance man, whose generalist approach could combine different competencies to achieve huge results, allowing him to see something that others could not see at all.

Can you highlight some of the key achievements or milestones your company has accomplished since its inception?

It’s been a long journey since we started the company, and we’ve grown by two orders of magnitude. Like any other IT consulting and software development company, we are influenced by market conditions and the needs of our customers. From day one, we made a conscious decision to focus solely on: 1) objectively challenging and interesting projects, and 2) evangelizing and using emerging or very new technologies into our work whenever possible.

It’s a risky fusion of ambitions for the very new yet open-minded business, isn’t it? - Yes, but strategically, we made the right decision. During the last decade and a half, we’ve watched the evolving tech landscape and tried to keep a finger on the pulse by jumping into progressing business niches and using only new, sometimes even exotic, technologies and tools. Initially, we focused on complex cross-platform desktop app development; then we switched to emerging mobile technologies (we were among the first to develop for iOS and Android), then hi-load SaaS, embedded systems, IoT, AR/VR, and, more recently, WebAI. I believe such a company vision mindset provides us with great mobility, eliminates stagnation, and, in fact, minimizes the risk of technology deprecations.

Besides, as I have already said, people are our most valuable asset and represent a significant milestone, achievement, and contribution to our future. We are open-minded and receptive to new business opportunities. This flexibility brings a sense of enjoyment to our work and inspires us to continue pursuing a better future.

Could you explain your company's business model? Do you primarily operate with an in-house team or utilize third-party vendors/outsourcing?

Our most powerful resource is our in-house engineering and management team. Let’s say approximately 80% of our core team is in-house and full-time. We maintain a highly distributed team; we have delivery offices in Eastern Europe (Ukraine, Slovakia) and lots of full-time contractors almost all over the world. However, as is common in our industry, we occasionally rely on third-party vendors and contractors for specialized or non-core tasks where we have not yet accumulated deep expertise. That said, I firmly believe that, in the long run, it's always better to retain and elevate our key competencies within the team.

How does your company differentiate itself from competitors in the industry?

At IT-Dimension, we believe software can be a real game-changer for businesses. First, we're obsessed with our clients' success (regardless of business size)! We differentiate ourselves through our deep commitment to it. We call it involvement, but it's more than that. We become deeply embedded in their business and see ourselves as an extension of their team by working tirelessly to help them achieve their goals through innovative software solutions. We don't just build what they ask for; we help them discover what they truly need.

We prioritize doing the job right, which is why clients often come back to us after trying other teams and not getting the results they expected. It’s our dedication to quality that makes clients trust us to get it right, over and over.

And as I stated before, unlike some companies that specialize in a narrow niche, IT-Dimension offers a wide range of expertise across various technologies and industries. We have incredibly talented engineers, designers, managers, and strategists working remotely across continents and time zones. And this has actually become one of our biggest strengths, fostering increased focus, diverse perspectives, and being really intentional about communication. We believe in giving everyone more autonomy to do their best work. If you get a lot of smart people in a room, they might come up with a very useful solution or suggestion.

At the same time, we also foster a strong sense of collaboration through initiatives that keep everyone on the same page, like regular team meetings, casual check-ins, shared documents and online workspaces, documentation repositories, and many more. This allows for deep focus, thoughtful contributions, and a truly flexible work culture. It's about creating an environment where everyone feels valued, respected, and empowered to contribute their unique talents to achieve our shared goals and deliver superior results for our clients.

Open and honest communication is paramount, ensuring transparency and trust in all our interactions. Our emphasis on professional development aligns with our core value of “People”. We believe in investing in our team's growth, both personally and professionally. We want our team to always feel supported and empowered to reach their full potential. I strongly believe that effective mentorship within the team is the most valuable form of training. So we always try to establish this practice. Also, working on interesting and challenging projects, people raise their own standards. Switching between interesting projects keeps people driven and does not allow them to 'rust.' We also encourage knowledge sharing within the team through regular presentations, and access to a comprehensive knowledge base. We believe that when our team members grow, we all grow!

Could you share a notable success story or case study that exemplifies the impact your company has had on a client's business?

We have a lot of great reviews and genuine real client feedback. However, I think the most compelling case studies are those where we’ve helped businesses make the critical transition from 0 to 1, and we have many such examples. It is exactly where our R&D expertise and creative capabilities played a crucial role in the project's initial phase.

While it’s true that our parts of code are being used across different industries and by major brands like Oracle, Polaroid, and Altec Lansing, we are most proud of the solutions we’ve developed to make a positive impact. A remarkable and recurring story. I can recall several cases where clients come back to us after trying other teams. When we start working with a new client, we try to do their project right from the start. It happens that a client works with us, and then decides that they will find something cheaper or faster, and then… comes back to us again.

Currently, we focus on key industries such as IoT/Industry 4.0, MedTech, HealthTech, Transportation, and Entertainment.

We are fortunate to have a strong base of repeat clients, which provides us with sustainable growth opportunities. About 75% of our clients are return customers – a testament to the value and trust that also provides us with sustainable opportunities for growth. While we continue to nurture these relationships, new clients play a key role in accelerating our expansion.

I think that in this fast-paced world of technology, constantly monitoring emerging trends, attending industry events like the Wearable Technologies Conference or Google’s WebAI conference and hackathons, and engaging with thought leaders are the keys to staying ahead of the curve. Such an approach allows us to anticipate our clients' future needs and deliver innovative solutions that keep them at the forefront of their industries.

We also invest in the development of our internal solutions and incubate micro-startups, which we can use as white-label solutions for our clients, helping them to minimize their spending for greenfield solutions.

Being based here in California. It’s like having a front-row seat to the ever-changing tech world. It's a very dynamic and inspiring environment that challenges us to constantly push the boundaries of what's possible. It's a bit like surfing here – you need to be able to ride the waves of change and adapt to the currents.

But the secret is not just about reacting to change; it's about anticipating it. As an individual and as a company leader, adapting to change comes naturally to me. We've been through many challenges and crises, but we keep going. The key strategy, in my experience, is to stay flexible and ready for changes, keep an open mind, and expand your horizons so you can anticipate and adapt to different scenarios.

What payment structure do you typically follow when billing clients? Is it Pay per Feature, Fixed Cost, or Pay per Milestone (phases, months, versions, etc.)?

Our payment structure is flexible and can vary depending on the project and client needs. Typically, we work with a Pay per Milestone or Pay per Month model, particularly for ongoing support. However, we are open to other arrangements, such as Pay per Feature or Fixed Cost, depending on the specific requirements of the project.

Do you accept projects that meet your basic budget requirements? If yes, what is the minimum budget requirement? If no, what is the minimum budget you have worked with in the past?

We typically try to avoid small-budget projects, but it really depends on the situation, as business is, after all, about generating a profit.

But here is a counter-example: one of our recent clients came to us with a great idea and some specialized experience but with almost zero budget. Despite that, we decided to invest in his solution, and it ended up being a great partnership based on technology. I think this is a case where an entrepreneurial mindset outweighed the business-driven approach to make a great value multiplier in the end.

In 2023, the projects we worked on varied significantly in scope and complexity, with budgets ranging from $10K to $600K.

On the lower end, we worked on smaller, more focused projects like developing specific features or providing ongoing technical support. These projects typically had a well-defined scope and shorter timelines.

On the higher end, we took on larger, more complex initiatives, such as custom software development, IoT solutions, and enterprise-level integrations. These projects usually involved multiple phases and required more extensive planning and collaboration with the client, which is reflected in the higher cost.

What technological capabilities does your company possess, and are there any ongoing or planned investments in technology infrastructure or tools to enhance your services?

We have plans to invest in expanding our server infrastructure to support AI research and development, which will help us stay ahead in this rapidly growing field. We’re also working on improving our administrative business processes by bringing in more modern SaaS tools to make things run more efficiently. As for our engineering and creative teams, we already have the necessary tools and environments in place to deliver great results for our clients.

Where do you envision your company in the next 10 years? What are your long-term goals and aspirations for growth and development?

Good question. The next 10 years are certainly uncertain; it really depends on what kind of world we'll be facing in the next decade. But we are techno-optimists, and I’m confident that we'll continue to grow steadily, expand our expertise, and continue to lead in emerging technologies, applying them to interesting and profitable projects. Personally, I see the future of our company evolving into a technological investor and collaborator (it might evolve into the most common format and business model in the future) by helping our clients grow their businesses by using our unique expertise, working alongside them to achieve their goals, and generating a long-term return through tech-driven collaboration.
