The best in the market

I worked with Vention during my previous venture, and was thoroughly impressed with the combination of value, quality of work, and ability to deliver. With my current venture in Asia, I tried to find a provider closer to my time zone, but none of those I surveyed was even close to the level of Vention. In both cases, the project was front-end development, at times quite demanding and complex.

Unlike many offshore companies where the modus operandi is hiring coding oompah loompahs coupled with whip-handling business managers to make sure that someone does not mess up, Vention's people are intelligent and capable of handling everything - but Vention still provides a "logistic aid" to arrange infrastructure, etc. for the projects. The business people in Vention are also technically savvy, which is yet another advantage. Everything is well-organised and works like a Swiss chronometre. They work a lot with startups, so if your tiny shaky boat may use a hand with infrastructure, they will help.

While it may have no direct impact on the process, it is worth noting that Vention is not a sweatshop. They take care of their people and provide them with perks, like English classes and a gym. On the geographic note, Vention R&D is in Belarus, which has nothing to do with Ukraine or Russia-related political issues. The contract can be signed with their New Jersey branch, so the potential legal concerns are taken care of as well. (Although, even in the unlikely case you have issues, chances are, they will be resolved amicably.)

As part of its mission to deliver exceptional online healthcare ?to organizations across Canada, telemedicine startup Dialogue developed a winning formula: proprietary technology powered ?by the country’s largest virtual medical team paired with ?patient-centric care.

The challenge

After several unproductive engagements, Dialogue approached Vention for our DevOps expertise, backend proficiency, and cloud know-how. We immediately set to work building an innovative virtual clinic. 

Then, when COVID hit in 2020, Dialogue experienced a 5x surge in demand — and traffic — and their ongoing success rested on their ability to act fast. That’s when a dedicated Vention team jumped in and took over ongoing optimization that kept the company going in a time of crisis.

Our impact

  • Having partnered with Dialogue since their Series A, we’ve supported them all the way through a partnership with Sun Life and a $79M IPO in early 2021.
  • The latency of heavy queries was reduced from 60 seconds ?to under 30 milliseconds.
  • We deployed a multi-account AWS environment ?designed to provide granular, centralized, and secure control over workloads. 
  • We delivered a virtual clinic, automated patient management, preliminary screening via a chatbot, and assistance in preparing the platform for SOC 2 certification.

Following a failed attempt with a previous vendor unable to satisfy their ever-growing development needs, Thirty Madison was referred to Vention by a former client of ours. To arrive at a functional solution faster and at scale, their team tapped into our backend and DevOps capabilities to create a full-blown web solution that connects users with licensed physicians offering unique FDA-approved baldness treatment plans.

Keeps gained remarkable traction in the market, and we were further entrusted to build frameworks for their other brands, ultimately helping Thirty Madison double down on their mission and approach a more diverse set of diseases.

Additionally, during the rapid escalation of COVID-19 in 2020, our team partnered on the launch of a new Urgent Care service within just two weeks.

The result

Backed by Vention from MVP to unicorn status and beyond, Thirty Madison has expanded from treating hair loss to migraines with the Cove brand, as well as launched acid reflux treatment service Evens.

Moving forward, the company aims to cover every single chronic condition, believing that human-first healthcare is a right, not a privilege — and we, of course, will be there to support them on their mission.

Back in 2013, ClassPass set a highly ambitious goal: to bring together the world’s best workouts on one app. Once ClassPass had become the premier fitness membership platform, all it needed was the right engineering partner to help meet its goal. Vention made the cut.

The challenge

The project scope far exceeded ClassPass’s existing resources, and quick team growth was vital, but they didn’t have the time to hire gradually. Thanks to our pre-vetted talent and streamlined staffing approach, we were able to step up and build feature-rich iOS and Android solutions from scratch and help develop a venue portal and admin panel for more effective user and studio management.

  • In just two months, 35+ best-in-class Vention developers were on board.
  • We set up a CI/CD pipeline for internal services coupled ?with DevOps best practices that helped ClassPass expand to 30 countries and unify more than 40,000 studios.
  • Backed by Vention from Series A to Series E and beyond, ClassPass not only became the world’s largest fitness network, but also the first unicorn of the decade to achieve an $8.4M valuation.
