They’ve kept to a very specific timeline and currently use Google Drive as a pry communcation tool.

We are excited to see our vision being realized by the team. The president of our company is also very enthusiastic about this business model because he has had some experience relative to the business opportunity that we are exploring.

WeAreBrain has been very adaptable to pivoting to our different needs and understanding how the product is supposed to be built for our customers. They’ve kept to a very specific timeline and currently use Google Drive as a primary communication tool.

We’re using a dashboard to track the project, which is very helpful, but we’ve found it more meaningful to communicate our progress through conversations and weekly meetings. It isn’t a very complicated business that we are starting, but they have been very intuitive from the beginning.

What was the project name that you have worked with WeAreBrain?

Web App Dev for Shareholder Communication Platform

What service was provided as part of the project?

Web Development

Describe your project in brief

We first explained to WeAreBrain the core problem our company is solving. We also shared our business model and plans to expand into a company communication tool, as opposed to simply being a bulletin board for private shareholders.

Our discovery sessions evolved into weekly sessions joined by WeAreBrain’s project manager and lead designer. They also brought in an expert who helped develop the wireframes for the web app. We mapped out the user journey, from how a potential shareholder or underlying company would log into the website all the way through the experience that they would have in intersecting with our company.

Co-Founder proposed to develop the web app such that it was highly intuitive and user-friendly, so he and his team made sure that the multiple wireframes were easy to utilize. We proceeded to engage in a process where we shared different semantics and nomenclature to develop the simplest and best program for our customer experience.

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?

They have a very strong knowledge base and were able to quickly grasp our business model and value proposition. The tools that they use and the wireframes that they’ve developed are also very simple. We appreciate that they easily understand our need to have a technology that isn’t too complex or confusing.

What was it about the company that you didn't like which they should do better?

I don’t have any constructive feedback.

The initial beta feedback that we’ve received from the clients has been really good.

WeAreBrain is great at taking the business and technical requirements and making sure that they use best practices and coding to come up with a solution and see the project to completion. The component was part of a larger project to rebrand and retool our customer process.

The initial beta feedback that we’ve received from the clients has been really good. The tool is much faster than the legacy in-house solution we were using, looks nice, and is easier to manage.

Most of the time, we don’t have to spend too much time worrying about project management because the team does it well and gets things back to us quickly.

The only thing that slows them down is the time that it takes us to test and provide feedback. WeAreBrain is good at getting work done and pushing it back to use for feedback and testing.

They wrote the component in Aura, a Java-based programming language that’s proprietary to Salesforce. The backend server side is written in Apex.

What is it about the company that you appreciate the most?

They were extremely organized and meticulous in their project management.

WeAreBrain was an incredible development partner. They were extremely organized and meticulous in their project management. They were excellent problem solvers; they repurposed their previous professional experience to our project when confronted with challenges in our development process. They were quite timely and productive overall.
As our particular project involved collaborating with multiple third-party software companies, our biggest obstacles appeared when coordinating complex interfaces between various applications. This ended up delaying our launch significantly, however, this was not entirely on WeAreBrain and often a result of our dependency on other partners.

They were very encouraging and really cared about the success of our project.

They were extremely communicative, responsive, and professional. I could not recommend them enough. We met at the beginning of each week to discuss what was being worked on that week and address any obstacles/decisions. After each meeting, they provided a summary with notes and a recording of what was discussed. Additionally, at the end of each week, they provided a detailed summary of what had been completed, issues they encountered, and solutions implemented. Aside from the weekly meetings, we communicated daily through Slack and they were always available to meet virtually as necessary for more detailed conversations.

TIP Group required a redesign of their website that included a way to consolidate different domains from 18 different country markets into a single one.

Our solution

WeAreBrain gave the website a complete redesign facelift, opting for a clean and sophisticated look that still honours the existing TIP Group brand elements. Our team developed a headless architecture using Drupal 9 Headless, Node.js, and React.js for a fast and responsive user experience. With a new fully operational CMS and new hosting with AWS, the new SPA website delivers speed and efficiency in both the front- and backend.

We consolidated 18 different sites and migrated thousands of pages and content into one domain, while redirecting all of the old URLs to the new site. Now, users from around the world can access the TIP Group website and will be redirected via subcategories to the language of their home country. Furthermore, the structure of each page is now responsive according to each different language.

The result

Thanks to the migration, consolidation, and headless architecture, the new website is significantly faster – including the performance on mobile. We helped improve the website security and eliminated vendor lock-in issues previously experienced. Additionally, we cleaned up the backend to allow for testing before implementation and development.

Our team simplified all digital forms, including complicated maintenance reports, to make the usability of the website easier.

The challenge

The International Council for Commercial Arbitration (ICCA) approached WeAreBrain to get a full revision of their website that had been created over 12 years ago. Aside from wanting a fresh new look, we needed to create a website that had the same flexibility as the old one, as well as ensure that all the data and the 1000+ active members were migrated across to the new site seamlessly. In addition, ICCA required a new platform to be built for the Young ICCA.

Typically when setting up a new site or platform, our development team would first finalise all functionality before content is added. However, ICCA’s needs were different. Realising that manually adding content would take an additional two months, we needed to approach development and release differently. This required us to allow new content to be added to the production environment while our development team worked in parallel developing additional new content types and functionalities at the same time.

Our solution

To kick-off the process, WeAreBrain’s development team needed to design and develop hundreds of new page templates using a modular approach to provide flexibility for the editors while ensuring consistency. The team also facilitated the automation of the content migration process for the structured content that could be migrated by the technology. This consisted of 500 PDF documents, 1000+ active members, and 450 news stories.

After the automatic migration process was completed, the team turned their attention to fully automating the ICCA membership signup procedure. Previously, users filled in the registration form which the ICCA team then had to verify before sending back an invoice. Once the payment was done, the approver had to manually add payment details onto their system. Since the subscription is not automatically prolonged, the ICCA team had to repeat the same process for every single user once a year – for all 1000 of them.

Thanks to the efforts of the WeAreBrain team, the process is now fully automated. Members can create their own accounts, follow a link to the payment page in their profile, pay their membership fee and get activated in real-time. Members are now notified multiple times before their membership subscription expires so they have sufficient time to renew it. Once their new subscription payment has been processed, their data gets automatically added to the ICCA database.

Since ICCA is a knowledge-base system, the new platform has been designed to be as user friendly as possible. Now, users around the globe are able to access ICCA’s content on any device, at any time.

The result

The ICCA and Young ICCA have a redesigned, modern and responsive website on any device. Add to that, the automation installed by WeAreBrain for all membership functionalities has not only saved the ICCA a huge amount of time, it has also streamlined the whole process for the members themselves making for a much better user experience.

We needed to create a digital platform devoted to all things DIY, where an online community of customers were able to get access to articles, find inspiration and share ideas with like-minded DIY enthusiasts. We needed to show that DIY furniture is fun and easy to assemble using the products from Maxeda’s stores, which cost less than already assembled furniture. The platform needed to drive traffic and increase sales to Maxeda’s webshop, including in-store retail customer visits.

We created 3 services to meet these challenges:
1. Voordemakers
The community platform aimed to show customers the various DIY possibilities they could create using Maxeda products. It inspired customers to share their experiences and ask questions about their own creations and ideas. This created real content which can be easily found in Google, so when people are trying to find the answer to a DIY problem, our results pop up which prompts people to visit Maxeda stores and purchase items.

2. Workshop
Workshop is a service which allows customers to be trained by an expert in store on how to build furniture and do repairs. Customers are urged to buy products in store in order to build the same DIY projects at home.

3. Afspraak
Afspraak is a calendar service where customers are able to book an appointment with a Maxeda DIY expert in store to ask for expertise, advice and skill sharing. At the same time the expert can sell products to the customer to help them with their next DIY project.

In 2012, a group of former college athletes realised how difficult it was to find high-quality used sports gear online with no dedicated e-commerce platforms available. This created the desire to create SidelineSwap - an e-commerce platform that supported the sports community by making previously owned sports gear more affordable and available. They also wanted to connect athletes with each other via this platform. Their key challenge was they had a great idea but they lacked the know-how to realise their dream.

WeAreBrain has teamed up with HEINEKEN Netherlands to create an exciting new Voice skill functionality to their Heineken Drinkies beer ordering app. Now you can order beer anywhere, anytime through a sophisticated Voice application using Google Assistant via mobile or smart home devices. Smart Speakers boom
Currently, the Smart Home market share in the Netherlands is estimated at $900m and is expected to grow to $1.7 billion by 2023. With Heineken Drinkies being available on Google Assistant and Smart Speakers it has opened up a new market, allowing for larger distribution with reduced marketing spend. Added to this, there is little competition in this new area yet. It is therefore easier to promote, as opposed to traditional app and online channels.

Challenge

Organising an event is hard work. It’s like a jigsaw puzzle that you need to put together to ensure that everything goes perfectly and when you get all the pieces in place you are likely to have an incredible event but sometimes things don’t go according to plan. Imagine you could get help with communicating your event to a wide audience, and managing ticket sales and finding venues which allow for a specific number of attendees? Wouldn’t that make putting an event together so much easier?

Solution

WeAreBrain created an exciting Event Bot - a powerful and dynamic solution that addresses all of this and much more, through a super smart Facebook Messenger chatbot.
Our Event Bot can organise and manage your guest list and let you know who is attending and who has to cancel last minute via signups.
You can get into the party spirit by listening to Spotify playlists, and you can also pre-book a taxi and plan your route to and from the event - we don’t want you drinking and driving! You can even organise your own event with our Event Bot. Just tell the bot your party requirements, including food, drinks, decorations and more, and the bot, through the Heineken NOW service, will deliver your order right to your house in just 30 minutes! With an efficient and user-friendly registration via a mobile webapp, event hosts are able to register visitors easily. And with transparent event reporting in a custom webportal powered by Tur.ai, event organisers are able to witness the effectiveness of their event and venue in real time.

Result

In the first year, 50-55% of event registrations happen through Facebook messenger, without any additional marketing of this channel. We also noticed a slighter higher 'show' percentage for the customers who registered via the chatbot, comparing to the online web form.

Retail

Despite ongoing digitisation in Retail Marketing, cashback campaigns have remained stubbornly analogue. From creation, to distribution, validation and the actual cashback payment processing, cashback campaigns traditionally require a lot of manual handling which makes them expensive and prone to human error. If you run cashback campaigns with affiliates or third party marketplaces, companies often have to pay additional commissions or processing fees to the partners without actually getting relevant data from it. Summarizing the main goals and objectives: direct contact with consumers; reduction of operational hassles and costs linked to rewards and cashback campaigns; internationally scalable and automated platform.

Solution

1. A multi-purpose application that allows to configure consumer-facing loyalty campaign initiatives, including but not limited to rewards and cash refund campaigns. In collaboration with Triple (wearetriple.nl).

2. An innovative and multi-purpose Image Processing and Optical Character and Image Recognition solution that extracts the data from images of both rolled and A4 receipts. This is accomplished with proprietary AI technology and a matching algorithm using a neural network. We have carefully created an algorithm to calculate the cashback per consumer based on the various campaign rules and the actual price of the purchased product.

3. A customised web portal has been developed to manage campaign rules and view the results of the image processing, with the ability to manually correct the system.

The platform also helps brand managers, marketers and business stakeholders to collect relevant consumer data, understand purchasing behaviour, promote new and existing Heineken products directly to consumers, and ultimately ensures purchases.

This intuitive, user-friendly platform transforms a manual and therefore slow process into one that is nimble and simple to use while closing the gap between consumers’ expectations and company marketing intentions by applying the latest Artificial Intelligence technology and sophisticated OCR and image processing capabilities. Since the launch of the product, 30.000+ receipts were successfully processed over the first 3 campaigns, boasting an automatic correct recognition judgment rate around 80%.

Considerable cost-savings were also made at Heineken, by reducing internal handling and processing costs by more than 90%, as well as external third party commissions for affiliate marketplaces.

Heineken is 100% in control of all campaign-related data all the while staying fully compliant with European GDPR regulations.

Heineken Rewards and more specifically the Heineken Image Processing solution is a game-changing, efficient and intuitive solution that solves the hassle involved in reward, cashback, and loyalty campaigns. It is a case where state-of-the-art technology powered by AI is used to truly improve on an activity that would otherwise be time-consuming, costly and potentially subject to human errors.

Based on the backbone of Tur.ai middleware solution and with the help of artificial intelligence, sophisticated image processing, and optical character recognition, the software can read, analyse and process receipts from the majority of retailers and supermarkets in your region.

This is truly a first. Not only in the Netherlands but across Europe.

Result

  • 30.000+ receipts successfully processed over the first 3 campaigns
  • Automatic correct recognition judgement rate around 80%
  • Reduced internal handling and processing costs by more than 90%
  • Reduced external third party commissions for affiliate marketplaces
